Accessibility
Short answer: US Rent Tools is built to be usable with a keyboard, a screen reader, and on a phone — with labeled inputs, visible focus, and high-contrast text. If you hit a barrier, please report it through the Contact Us form so it can be fixed.
What we aim for
- Keyboard navigation: menus, dropdowns, calculators, and forms can be operated without a mouse. Dropdown menus open on hover, focus, or click, and close with Escape or when focus leaves the menu.
- Screen readers: pages use semantic headings, landmarks, labeled form fields, and descriptive link text. Calculator results and form errors are announced with live regions where applicable.
- Contrast and text: body text uses a dark navy on white, with large, scalable type. Text can be resized in your browser without breaking the layout.
- Mobile: layouts stack on small screens, inputs are full-width, and tap targets are large enough to use comfortably.
- No unnecessary motion: the site avoids auto-playing media and flashing content. The Free Tools Hub tagline rotates slowly and is announced politely, not as a flashing banner.
Known limits
Some older state-rule tables are wide on very small screens; they scroll horizontally rather than shrinking text below a readable size. Calculator results are shown as text and tables, not as images of text, so they can be read by assistive technology and copied.
Report a barrier
If a page, calculator, or form is hard to use with your device or assistive technology, please use the Contact Us form and choose “Accessibility issue” as the subject. Include the page address, the device or tool you were using, and what happened. No contact email is published on this site, so the form is the way to report a barrier — it prepares your message for you to send from your own email app, as explained on that page.
